Welcome to our travel blog. We are Tabitha and Nic. In 2011 we 'retired' in our early 40s and set off to travel the world. We spent our first year in South America and have been lucky enough to make two trips to Antarctica.

Our blog is a record of our travels, thoughts and experiences. It is not a guide book, but we do include some tips and information, so we hope that you may find it useful if you are planning to visit somewhere we have been. Or you may just find it interesting as a bit of armchair travel.

Apologies for the delay to services...

Even the most unobservant of our regular readers cannot have failed to notice that I have been rather lax in posting to the blog recently.  It isn't that we haven't done anything - although we have taken it a bit easier during our time back in the UK, but rather that I have been a bit lazy.

I do have some excuses though: Nic knocked us off course for a short while as he had one of his (thankfully rare) epileptic fits; then I have had a horrible cough since we came back from Germany at the start of September, which involved more trips to the GP in one month than I had in the last ten years; that cough caused us to delay our departure to Cuba, which took some sorting out; we had no Internet access in Cuba; and then finally we had the terrible situation of two deaths in our family during the fortnight we were in Cuba, so have been back in the UK for that.

We are now off to Antarctica - so no Internet access again - but will then be back in the UK until after Christmas.  My homework for December is to catch up with the blog, so don't give up on us just yet. Normal service will be resumed soon!
