Welcome to our travel blog. We are Tabitha and Nic. In 2011 we 'retired' in our early 40s and set off to travel the world. We spent our first year in South America and have been lucky enough to make two trips to Antarctica.

Our blog is a record of our travels, thoughts and experiences. It is not a guide book, but we do include some tips and information, so we hope that you may find it useful if you are planning to visit somewhere we have been. Or you may just find it interesting as a bit of armchair travel.

Greetings from South America

Villarica Volcano - the view from our room here in Pucon, Chile
For those of you with good memories, who recall that my last post was from Laos, my now being in South America may seem a little odd. But as you will probably recall, the blog is still firmly in catch up mode.

We have recently arrived in the southern lakes area of Chile, and will be around this way for a few months, so I aim to catch up with the blog posts while we are here. We'll be picking up in Hong Kong, where we were last February, towards the end of our last big trip, followed by a brief stay in the Middle East, before going back to the UK.

While in the UK, we took a few short trips, so you can expect to read about Norway for the Northern Lights, Liverpool for the Grand National, Avignon, Barcelona, The Baltic States and a short trip to Umbria in Italy.

Once we get through all of that, with any luck - and a lot of perseverance - we should be able to pick up here, in time to set off for a couple of months in Argentina.
