Welcome to our travel blog. We are Tabitha and Nic. In 2011 we 'retired' in our early 40s and set off to travel the world. We spent our first year in South America and have been lucky enough to make two trips to Antarctica.

Our blog is a record of our travels, thoughts and experiences. It is not a guide book, but we do include some tips and information, so we hope that you may find it useful if you are planning to visit somewhere we have been. Or you may just find it interesting as a bit of armchair travel.

Is it a bus? Is it a lorry? No, it’s the Dragoman truck.

As I mentioned before, Cameron gets a lot of attention as we drive around.  Even only a few days into our trip, we have seen that we frequently get second and third looks from the people we pass.  Some look confused, some clearly curious.  Many people wave at us, including the police that we passed on the drive from the estancia to Tafi del Valle.  We nearly caused an accident a few days ago when a driver was busy watching us rather than the rest of the traffic.

Dave and Ivan being interviewed
And when we stopped at Jesus Maria for our next few days shopping, we caught the interest of a local camera crew.  As we were packing the food away, they stopped and talked to Ivan about what we were doing, and asked to do a piece on us.  So Ivan gave them an interview in Spanish – with Dave helpfully making rude gestures behind the cameraman to try to put him off – and they filmed the truck with us on it.  So we might be on the Argentine TV – again!
