Welcome to our travel blog. We are Tabitha and Nic. In 2011 we 'retired' in our early 40s and set off to travel the world. We spent our first year in South America and have been lucky enough to make two trips to Antarctica.

Our blog is a record of our travels, thoughts and experiences. It is not a guide book, but we do include some tips and information, so we hope that you may find it useful if you are planning to visit somewhere we have been. Or you may just find it interesting as a bit of armchair travel.

Goodbye Cameron, Hello Cindy

Being in La Paz meant that we were reaching the end of the first leg of our Dragoman trip, and that meant saying goodbye not only to some of our group, but also to Dave,  Ivan and Cameron as they were all going in other directions.

So we had our farewell meal with the old group and then met up with the new. We lost Bert, Vanessa, Carolyn, Alex and Jade, but gained eight new people. Two of Leoni's friends joined her for this next leg, they are Fiona and Drew, also from Australia.  In fact we have become overrun with Aussies as we also gained from Australia, Ken and Sue, a retired couple, Stacey and Kas, two young friends, and Shannon, travelling on her own.  The last newby is Sander from the Netherlands.

And then there is our new crew.  Cindy is fairly similar to Cameron, but the brand new speakers don't work so we hope to get those fixed at Cusco so that we don't have to resort to singalongs!  Our new leader is Izzy from UK, and our co driver is TJ from USA.

This next leg is a fairly short one for driving as it takes us to Cusco for the Machu Picchu trek - and I've still not decided whether to do that yet.

So a bit of change, but we expect to settle back in quickly.  And on we go.
